The Summer Scholars 2011 will blend enrichment activities and engaging academics in a theme related curriculum. Themes will be covered in 1-2 week sessions. Exciting themes will be integrated across all program areas; planned and implemented by certified teachers called program leaders. Curricular programs that will be offered are Technology, Math/Science/Ecology, Reading/Writing/Library time, Performing Arts/Drama/Reader’s Theater, Physical Education/Olympics, Swimming
Student scholars will be grouped into clusters of between 8 and 10 students. Each cluster will be assigned a counselor. Counselors will travel with their group of students and rotate through academic and activity sessions daily. They will assist the Program Leaders in their instruction. Time not spent in the above listed program areas will be planned by the counselor and will incorporate outdoor play, games and arts and crafts. Field trips will be planned to extend the themes studied. Guest speakers and visiting specialists (Tae Kwon Do Masters, musicians) will be built into the program.

| | | This year's theme is Camp Ripen's "Lost at Sea" and it will include some Mental Group/Team Building and Individual Physical Challenges, Themed Field Trips, Arts and Crafts, Cooking Projects, Science and Nature Explorations, Swimming at Brighton Pool, and our Annual optional Overnight Camping Experience at Camp Pioneer. Every camper will need a pool pass to swim. Lunches will be provided every day except for field trip/travel days. We are a Peanut Free Facility due to Severe Allergies. Registration starts the week of May 2nd and continues until camp starts on Monday, June 27th. Enrollment is available for Full Time (5 days a week) with a two (2) week minimum or Part Time (minimum of 2 days per week) with the same two (2) week minimum. If you refer a new camper to "Camp" and they register to attend, you will be given the following bonus: Attending Full Time - $50.00 credit certificate towards your weekly fee; Attending 3 to 4 days per week - paid Camp Ripen Activities Fee; Attending 2 days per week - One (1) paid field trip (excludes Camping).
